Subject: AGU awards - nominate yourself or peers
Hi all,
I’m presently serving as the Marine Geo secretary in the AGU Ocean Sciences Division. This is the season for making society award nominations – the
deadline is March 13th. Please consider nominating a peer, mentor, or yourself! A curated list of some ocean-specific awards is included below, but the full list is available at:
https://www.agu.org/honors/union-medals-awards-prizes.
You can search by award type, career stage, keywords, etc.
Ocean
Sciences Voyager Award recognizes a mid-career scientist’s significant contribution to, and expanding leadership in, the ocean sciences.
Ocean
Sciences Early Career Award recognizes significant contributions to the ocean sciences from honorees within 10 years of receiving their Ph.D. This award also serves to acknowledge the awardee’s
future promise within the ocean sciences.
Rachel
Carson Lecture recognizes cutting-edge work by a woman scientist in any of the sub-disciplines of ocean-science research. The lecture will be delivered at the 2025 AGU Fall Meeting.
Ocean
Sciences Award recognizes outstanding leadership or services to the ocean sciences by a senior scientist.
Nominations of Ocean
Scientists to become AGU Fellows are also open, recognizing marine scientists who have made exceptional contributions to Earth and space science through a breakthrough, discovery, or innovation
in their field.
Cheers,
Emily
